The first step for a new patient is filling out a complete health history form. Dr. Jackson wants to know what kind of problems or discomforts you have been experiencing and how you have been treating your body. Automobile accidents, hard falls, and other traumas or injuries are important information in evaluating your spine and overall health. Next, you will have a complete chiropractic exam. These tests help determine where your problem areas might be and how the doctor will address them. The tests include: static palpation, which is examination of the body tissues by touching and feeling with the fingers. The doctor is looking for tenderness, swelling and any abnormalities. Motion palpation is feeling and evaluating movement of the bones. Instrumentation, which involves running a Nervo-scope down your spine to locate heat which indicates swelling. The nervoscope feels like two fingers gliding down your spine.
