If you have been involved in a car accident, whiplash injuries need to be taken very seriously. Dr.Silvera is here to help patients manage pain and recover from Auto Accident injuries.
If you have been in an auto accident, your care is provided by your auto insurance company (Not your health insurance company or major medical provider).
*If you are in an auto accident, you need to report it within 14 days to your insurance company or they will deny all coverage for your care. When you talk to your insurance company, make sure you get a claim number, the adjusters name and telephone number.
First, you need to come in for a physical exam - so we can find the origin of your pain. After the physical exam, we will more than likely have to order some diagnostic imaging (M.R.I's) to further assist and diagnose the severity of your condition (if they haven't been order from the hospital previously, or if you don't have them on hand - images must be from after your accident).
These diagnostic images are normally covered under your personal injury insurance from your auto insurance company. There is usually no additional cost out-of-pocket to you. The turnaround on the images is about 48 hours. After we get your images, we will begin your rehabilitation process.
