Description:

"I didn't experience a miracle, but I've sure seen a lot of them."

..said Dr. Pat O'Neill. Many Chiropractors decide on this career due to miraculous results with their own health. That wasn't the case with me (although I have had excellent results from care over the years).
North Charleston Chiropractor: Dr. Patrick O'Neill

When I was in High School and trying to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up, some friends that I played basketball with had their father come speak at Career Day in school. He happened to be a chiropractor, and when he explained the natural approach to healing that Chiropractic takes, something just "clicked" with me. It was so simple, but it made so much sense. I had always been fascinated with how the human body worked and wanted to do something where I could help a lot of people, and in chiropractic, I saw the perfect combination.

About that same time, my older brother (in college at the time), became disillusioned with electrical engineering, switched to Pre-Chiropractic as a major and started Chiropractic school himself. As I began to study it more and became a patient myself, it became clear to me that this was what I wanted to do with my life. After finishing my prerequisites (lots of biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy), I began Sherman Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC in 1985. After an intense four years of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, x-ray and technique classes, I graduated in 1989 at age 23 and started practice. I practiced in Sumter, SC for 3+ years, and then decided to move to Charleston to open my own practice. I've been serving the people of the North Charleston area since 1992.
